James Joshua Brian Cooper, 37, entered the Kingdom of heaven at 9:17pm on February 24, 2024 after a valiant fight against cancer. He was surrounded by his family in his final moments.
Josh, as he was known by his loved ones, was born May 17, 1986 to the late Terry Eugene Lancaster and Glenda (McLemore) Cooper. He was raised by Glenda and Brian Cooper in Bruceville, IN.
He was a 2005 graduate of North Knox High School as an Academic Honors student. He most recently worked as a machine operator for Package Craft out of Ayden, NC, prior to that he worked at McKinley packaging in Avon, IN and at PCA of vincennes, IN. Josh was passionate about his work, and he took pride in all that he did. Josh was an avid reader, his favorite author was Dean Koontz. He was creative and crafty, he loved to draw and he enjoyed cooking. He was a fan of live music and enjoyed attending music festivals, sitting around fires listening to music and singing every word to every song that came on. Josh was deeply compassionate and devoted to the people that he loved. He was a gentle and kind spirited person. He made many friends in his lifetime and he cherished them all. He enjoyed playing board games and card games with friends and family. He loved being Uncle Josh or Uncle "Faf", as he was also referred to as, to his many nieces and nephews.
In his final years, Josh traveled often, living in Avon, Indiana; Jackson, Tennessee and Ayden, NC before moving to Lincolnton, Georgia.
He is preceded in death by his grandfather James McLemore , great-grandmother Ruby Baldwin, father Terry Lancaster, grandmother Betty Lou Lancaster, grandmother Joan Cawley, and grandmother Mary Sievers.
He is survived by his mother Glenda Cooper and Brian Cooper of Vincennes. His siblings are: T.J. Lancaster (Haley) of Vincennes, Brittney Getchell (Eric) of Bicknell, Leah Wilkerson (Donnie) of Lincolnton, Georgia, and BriAndra Schulze of Bicknell, Jake Fischer of Vincennes and Zach Fischer of Vincennes. He will be deeply missed by his nieces and nephews: Timothy Schulze, Gracie Schulze, Bella Schulze, Conner Celeste, Lillian Getchell, Hudson Getchell, Isaiah Wilkerson and Henry Lancaster.
He is additionally survived by his many aunts and uncles, and several cousins.
A memorial Visitation will be held at Fredrick and Son McClure-Utt Funeral Homes Vincennes Chapel on Sunday March 24th from 1-3 P.M.
